This is the cooperation project between the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Territory (IMET) and China State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA).
In October 2003, SEPA and IMET signed a bilateral cooperation agreement on constructing a Center for China Compliance with International Environmental Conventions (4C Building). The building is planned to be constructed in a central area of 6.754 sq.m. in Beijing, along Deshengmen West road in the north and Hongyingfang hutong in the south.
The design focused on the creation of a building with eco-friendly solutions, Italian design and high technological plants and materials, so to obtain the maximum energy relief.
Energy-saving building designed to flow with the urban and environmental context. The north face is closed to protect from cold windsand from the freeway. The two central courts, with delighting system, pierce the building to the top and bring natural light to the inside,improving energy saving. The 4C building hosts the offices of the Chinese Department of the Environment.The project were created to carry into effect the multi-lateral agreements.
